CBC Cannabis: Effect, effect, flowers, recipe & store – Cannabichromen

CBC is a lesser-known cannabinoid found in the cannabis plant, but is receiving more and more attention in medical research. It is not psychoactive like THC, but has exciting effects on the body and well-being. But what exactly is CBC, how does it work and what role does it play in cannabis flowers? You can find out everything here: from its effects to current studies and the selection of flowers and extracts. Back to all: Cannabinoids in cannabis (active ingredients).

CBC: What exactly is that?

Cannabinoide in Cannabis: CBC

CBC stands for cannabichromene and, like THC, CBD and CBG, is one of the most important cannabinoids of the cannabis plant. In contrast to THC, CBC is not intoxicating, but has subtle but medically relevant effects. Initial studies show that CBC influences the endocannabinoid system and works particularly well with receptors that regulate pain perception, inflammation and mood balance.

  • CBC stands for cannabichromene
  • Does not have a psychoactive effect
  • Has medically interesting properties

CBC content in flowers: why is it often so low?

In contrast to THC or CBD, the CBC content in most cannabis flowers is only between 0.1% and 0.3%. However, newer cultivars achieve higher CBC levels in order to make the cannabinoid usable for medical purposes. Research into extracts with a standardized CBC content, which are being tested for the treatment of inflammation and chronic pain, for example, is particularly exciting.

Did you know? While THC and CBD are well-known, CBC often remains in the background – but researchers see great potential for the future of cannabinoid therapy.

How CBC works in the body

CBC does not bind directly to the classic CB1 receptors in the brain, as THC does, but interacts more strongly with CB2 receptors and so-called TRPV1 and TRPA1 channels. These are particularly responsible for pain perception, inflammation and the regulation of the immune system.

  • Has an anti-inflammatory effect
  • Supports pain management
  • Could boost mood and drive

How long CBC works

The effect of CBC strongly depends on the form of administration. When inhaled, the effect occurs more quickly, while extracts or oils have a longer-lasting effect. Studies suggest that CBC often has a gentler but more stable effect than THC.

Cannabinoids each have their own functions in the body. THC is primarily known for its psychoactive effects, while CBD has a calming and anti-inflammatory effect. CBC, on the other hand, unfolds its potential more subtly: It appears to promote the formation of new brain cells (neurogenesis) and enhance the effects of other cannabinoids.

While THC provides the “high” effect, CBC supports the body’s own systems – without intoxication.

Note the effects of CBC and other cannabinoids:

  1. CBC is not intoxicating
  2. Can relieve inflammation and pain
  3. Promotes the effect of other cannabinoids

CBC and the entourage effect

CBC plays an important role in the so-called “entourage effect“. In combination with CBD, THC and other cannabinoids, the overall effect can be enhanced. Therefore, modern medical applications increasingly rely on standardized blends of flowers or extracts that contain a balanced proportion of CBC.

This makes CBC a promising component of future therapies and a growing number of cannabis products.
