German Hemp Association: CannaZen supports the DHV – News!
Hanfverband Deutschland – Whether on YouTube, Instagram, on the web or on site, the German Hemp Association has been doing excellent work for years and we wanted to support the DHV Berlin. No sooner said than done. Here is a little more background on the work of the German Hemp Association, knowledge about partial legalization and why we like to support it.
What is the German Hemp Association?
The German Hemp Association (DHV) is the most important lobby organization for cannabis in Germany. Since 2002, it has represented consumers, patients and advocates of regulation vis-à-vis politicians, the media and society. The association is financed by donations and membership fees and is supported by a network of committed people throughout Germany.
Core tasks: Online and offline work
The DHV’s work revolves around political lobbying in the Bundestag, raising awareness in the media and organizing demonstrations such as the Hanfparade. It has thus made a significant contribution to making partial legalization a reality in 2024/2025.

Goals and requirements 2025
Following partial legalization, the DHV is fighting for the next steps. The focus is on specialist stores with controlled distribution, less bureaucracy for growers’ associations, fair THC limits in road traffic and better care for patients.
Specialist stores instead of the black market
The DHV is calling for nationwide model projects that enable regulated dispensaries. This will finally allow consumers to shop safely and legally – and cities will collect important data for nationwide implementation.

THC limits in traffic
The current limits of 3.5 ng/ml are a step forward, but there is still criticism. The DHV is calling for clear rules for mixed consumption and fair practices by the authorities so that no one loses their driving license while sober.

Medical access
Patients need reliable care from pharmacies. The DHV is committed to simpler prescriptions and fewer bureaucratic hurdles.

Activities and campaigns
In 2025, the DHV is once again launching important campaigns: the “Cannabis Normal!” conference in Berlin, local campaigns by the local groups and regular news updates on social media. Open letters and position papers on model regions and cultivation associations underline the political work. The ongoing cannabis petition [year] is also particularly important, with which supporters can send a clear signal to politicians.
Conference Cannabis Normal!
The annual conference brings together politics, science and practice. In 2025, the focus will be on pilot projects, cultivation associations and transportation. At the same time, the DHV draws attention to the fact that political opponents are still trying to roll back progress – as shown by the debate of the CDU, which wants to ban the shipping of cannabis once again.

Local groups and campaigns
In many cities, there are DHV local groups that organize information stands, demos and community events. This makes the issue visible and tangible locally. With a united voice, progress can be secured and setbacks prevented.

Why do we support the DHV?
Without the work of the German Hemp Association, the current partial legalization would probably not exist. With professional lobbying, media-effective campaigns and a strong network, the association has made history – and accompanies us all on the path to full legalization.
Our motivation
We support the DHV because it fights consistently and seriously for consumers, patients and the entire community. Germany needs this voice in order to create fair laws and practicable rules.

- Seriousness
