In my research on cannabis in California, I first heard about 4/20 Day, the unofficial cannabis holiday! Fun fact enough to write a blog post about – as of today you know it, because Cannabis Holiday! The 420 Cannabis Holiday is the biggest event worldwide for all cannabis fans. But why exactly April 20? And how is it celebrated? Here you can find out everything about the significance and tradition of this special day. What does 420 mean?

The number 420 is a symbol of cannabis culture!

Its origin: a group of schoolchildren in California (“The Waldos”) met every day at 4:20 pm to smoke pot. From there, the code spread through the music scene – especially through the band Grateful Dead (source: Wikipedia).
