One of the most liberal medical-cannabis prescribing standards in Europe since 20 August 2025 — doctors can prescribe for essentially any condition based on clinical judgment. Full recreational legalization has NOT passed despite referendum support; recreational possession is decriminalized in practice, not legal.
Medical program
Standard insurance-covered or self-pay prescriptions, up to one month at a time. Home cultivation for medical use is NOT permitted — supply stays with licensed producers.
Traveling with medical cannabis
No rule found yet for foreign patients — the law is too new (Aug 2025) for established guidance to exist. As Schengen, Article 75 applies in principle only.
