← Cannabis Laws in Europe — Country Guide for Patients & Travelers

Ireland Medical only

IMPORTANT: Ireland's own program is one of the narrowest in Europe (only 3 qualifying conditions, ~74 approved patients total) — AND multiple sources confirm foreign medical cannabis products are NOT permitted into Ireland even with proper certificates.

Medical program
Medical Cannabis Access Programme (MCAP): MS spasticity, chemotherapy-induced nausea, and intractable neuropathic pain only, after standard treatments failed, prescribed by a specialist.
Traveling with medical cannabis
Do not bring prescribed cannabis into Ireland — travel guides state this directly, even under the Article-75-style framework that otherwise applies. Verify with Irish customs/HSE before any exception.
Information for general guidance only, not legal advice. Laws change — verify with official sources before traveling.
