Denmark's medical cannabis pilot became a permanent law in April 2025 — any doctor can prescribe for any condition they judge appropriate. Recreational use remains illegal (aside from the long-tolerated, legally-unofficial exception in Copenhagen's Christiania district).
Medical program
Permanent and broad in principle (any doctor, any condition). Pharmaceutical products like Sativex are also available.
Traveling with medical cannabis
Tourists may bring prescribed medical cannabis for personal use (~30 days' supply) with a named prescription. Get a Schengen certificate ("pill pass") from your home pharmacy before departure. Denmark's system is built around residents — you cannot easily get a NEW Danish prescription as a visitor.
