The real story behind “Kid Cannabis”
A short recap of the real story of Kid Cannabis.
What is Kid Cannabis like? Rating
Here is our rating for Kid Cannabis:
- Drama ⭐⭐⭐⭐
- Thriller ⭐⭐⭐⭐
- Humor ⭐⭐
Leading actors: Young, wild & credible
The lead role is played by Jonathan Daniel Brown – previously more of a comedy actor, but surprisingly strong here. He is supported by Kenny Wormald and Ron Perlman, who takes on a supporting role as a brutal boss. The chemistry between the guys seems genuine. This makes the movie feel more like a docu-drama than Hollywood.
Jonathan plays Nate as an insecure, ambitious underdog. His development from fast food delivery man to millionaire is believable. Despite all his flaws, you can’t help but root for him. A strong performance in an unusual movie.
- Transformation from loser to dealer
- Emotional depth instead of slapstick
Turning points & betrayal
The story later escalates: Nate gets into a deadly conflict with a rival called Brendan. He hires two hitmen – who Nate poaches without further ado. Brendan is eliminated and business goes on. But trust is also crumbling internally: Topher plans his own delivery routes behind Nate’s back.
What happened to Nate Norman?
After his arrest, he disappeared from the public eye. In interviews he later showed remorse, but also pride in his clever idea. Today he lives in seclusion. A second movie is therefore rather unlikely.
- Real story = completed
- Nate no longer active today
